Riad Bab Aljana

A perfectly-situated sanctuary of calm in the medina.

Pros: Brilliant location, lovely staff who made us feel well looked after, a perfect and quiet spot to relax when not braving the hustle and bustle of the medina.

Cons: No complaints!

Oasis in the medina

Pros: This was my favourite of all the Riads I stayed in during my time in Morocco. The airport transfer was smooth, great value and a comforting welcome to the madness of Marrakech. Adil was a gentle, calm host who prepared the most incredible tea, pastries and breakfast. The riad was clean, centrally located, quiet and a true oasis. The rooftop was a particular highlight. Thankful for my stay here and I hope to return again.

Beautiful stay, great location, recommend 100%!!

Pros: Myself and my partner had a wonderful stay at Riad Bab Aljana. Although down a long alley way off the Main Street, it was excellent location and we felt safe walking to it. The Riad itself is beautiful and the family who runs it are such lovely people willing to help you with anything. Breakfast was a mixture of fruit, baked goods, yogurt, pancakes etc with tea/coffee/juice. The room was the highlight for sure, it was very large with everything needed and exceptionally clean and well maintained with it being refreshed and our bed made every day. We did not use the pool as it was cold but I can imagine in the summer this would be lovely to have. The Riad is not busy, I think they have about 5/6 rooms so feels relaxed and quiet. Also a lovely roof top to chill on. I felt for the cost of the stay it was really good value and would highly recommend it to anyone for their first trip to Marrakesh.

Cons: Really nothing! I guess only to note that the shower is not attached to the wall so more difficult to wash your hair as you had to hold it the entire time but it really wasn’t the worst thing.

Amazing stay at the heart of the Medina!

Pros: Super friendly staff, great service, and super clean rooms. The bed was also amazing!!

Cons: The walls could be a bit better soundproof.

Small but perfectly-formed Riad

Pros: Very beautiful and calm property. Nicely decorated. Lovely staff. Nice breakfast - did the job.

Cons: Little to complain about.

Perfect authentic Riad foe a long weekend

Pros: Excellent Riad very close to the Jemma el Fnaa but relaxed and quiet at night. Comfortable clean bedroom & bathroom and a nice rooftop sun area with plenty of seats and sun loungers. Friendly hosts who helped sort transport / taxi and man to help guide you to the Riad.

Cons: It would be difficult to find without help but this was not an issue

Pros: I liked the staff, the aesthetics and the fact that it was warm in winter and the water was hot:)

Great stay for a girls weekend trip.

Pros: The staff is so nice and very caring. They are 24h/7 open. They helped us with booking taxi to the airport. They bought us babouche as sleepers. They are so accommodating.

Cons: All was good.

Pros: I stayed three nights in this riad in Marrakech. The room was beautiful and spotless, and the breakfast was different every day. Everyone was incredibly kind, and Khadija was especially lovely in welcoming us and giving us useful information about the city. I recommend using their taxi service to reach the riad, as it’s not very easy to find in the Medina. However, the location is excellent — right in the heart of the Medina and just a short walk from the main square. Highly recommended!

Pros: Very comfortable stay. Hosts were very helpful and breakfast was delicious.
