Bab Akoul Palmeraie - Boutique Hotel & Spa

Pros: Beautiful gardens with a great swimming pool perfect place to relax after the chaos of the Souks. Staff were brilliant, extremely helpful, enthusiastic and made sure we had a brilliant stay.

Beautiful, exotic and relaxing villa with incredibly attentive staff. We didn’t want to leave

Pros: Bab Akoul exceeded all expectations! There were not many reviews or pictures when booking and I couldn’t believe our luck when checking in. We had the most beautiful family apartment which was enormous and so tastefully decorated. The whole properly is stunning with various different places to hang out / sunbathe including 2 pools (1 heated), trampoline, ping pong etc which was perfect for my 4 year old. We loved the fires every morning and fire pits at night. The food was incredible and we particularly enjoyed the breakfasts. A massive thank you to all the very dedicated and attentive staff but particularly Maroua who went above and beyond. It was my birthday whilst staying and she decorated our apartment with balloons, candles, roses and a cake. Nothing was too much trouble and she also organised with the kitchen for my children to have some healthy meals prepared. Thank you so much for such a fantastic and memorable stay. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful property with friendly staff!

Pros: This is a beautiful villa property which has newly transitioned to a boutique style hotel. With that in mind, I'd like to thank Maroua who is front of house and managing the hotel. She always had a smile and was so friendly from the moment I arrived! The team is growing and the experience will improve as more people are brought on to work. I'd also like to thank the friendly waiter at breakfast who was very accommodating with requests. I had a conference nearby in La Palmeraie and this was a perfect base to come back to. The gardens and pool are beautiful, as is the central living/lobby area which has stunning interiors. The beef and aubergine tagine prepared by the chef was one of my favourite dishes while in Marrakech for the week.

Cons: Room six needs some attention in the bathroom, the drainage system needs some work in the shower and toilet area. I mentioned this to front of house who sent an engineer while I was out at my event. This seemed to partially fix the problem for a few days but then the drainage smell came back. I think it needs a proper clean and to fix the toilet basin where it connects to the concrete floor. Breakfast could be served a bit later until 10:30am like most hotels.

Pros: Amazing Property, Serene and peaceful location A little bit away from the city centre but beautiful . The Moroccan tea was served with amazing local cookies was made when ever we wanted it . Surrounded by trees and lawns with two swimming pools with controlled temperature of the water. Very polite , helpful and friendly staff. Very good food especially the soups and tangine lemon chicken . Very clean and hygienic place . Would definitely love to go and stay there again.

Cons: The approach road was bumpy and the wifi was very patchy and since its away from the city and sightseeing places we had to depend upon the transport arrangements made by the Bab Akoul hotel . The taxi fare was almost three times the normal price but still it was worth it. The Ham-am and spa was getting renovated .

It Was Wonderful!

Pros: I searched long and hard for the right place to stay for six nights in Marrakech and I was not disappointed in any respect. Séverine and her team - Moustapha, Maroua, William, Paul, Dalal, Hiba, Mohcine and Henry (sorry if I missed someone!) - were so kind and helpful. The Bab Akoul became a real home away from home for me. Great food, great service, very comfortable bed. Great location - peaceful part of the city, easy taxi ride to golf courses and the city. The lovely open fire was so comforting in the January evenings, and the extensive grounds and heated pool made it feel like a real retreat. I was travelling alone but met so many nice people among the staff and guests, I never once felt lonely. I hope i’ll go back one day!

Cons: Nothing.

Pros: A brilliant stay overall. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well located, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Couldn’t fault it.
