Riad AKL

Pros: A very central location in the middle of the Medina. Lovely hosts.

A beautiful central riad, with a lot of communal space.

Pros: A beautiful building down the backstreets of the Medina. Fantastic roof terrace. Very spacious, although one of the bedrooms was quite small, but there was a lot of communal space. This would be a good place in good weather, which we did not have.

Cons: The kitchen was basic. The alleyways to the property felt a little intimidating at first, but we did arrive at night, and the next day was better. The beds were rather firm!

All considered, I really enjoyed my stay because I felt I lived a bit of the Moroccan experience.

Pros: The property is very beautiful, a typical and intimate riad. I personally had the bigger bedroom which is almost like a small flat on its own. The other two are decent size rooms. There is a rooftop, a small kitchen and sofas on every floor.

Cons: The beds are not the best and the blankets must have carried some dust as I had a little trouble breathing at night. To get to the property you need to leave the market street and walk down a couple small alleys that don’t feel 100% safe - however the owner (very friendly) came to escort us on our arrival.

Pros: - The riad is really nice and spacious with 3 rooms and 2 spacious leisure rooms! We couldn’t utilise all haha. Not to mention the rooftop! Everything was so aesthetically pleasing and comfortable. Eventhough the bathrooms have no doors, except for one room and there’s one extra toilet at the entrance with door, the bathrooms are clean enough with facilities. - Thank you salma for preparing breakfast! It costs 50dirham per head. - Thank you daoud for being super helpful and available for any inquiry. Thanks for letting us leave our bags until we leave for the airport too. Thanks for helping us with the bags - i highly recommend to take their airport transfer if you coming from the airport. - Very close to secret garden (in fact behind it), and the jama el fnaa! Even koutubia mosque is walking distance. We didn’t take taxi at all. - Can be easily navigated through apple maps and google maps!

Cons: - It was awkward at first to arrive at night haha as it’s very quiet with the shops closed, and it’s quite a walk from the main road, and it’s our first time in Morocco! The path is narrow and very quiet but we got used to it after day 1!

Great, spacious Riad in a heart of Marrakesh.

Pros: Riad AKL was everything I hoped for!! We couldn't have wished for a more authentic and wonderful introduction to Moroccan living and will definitely book again 😊 Communication was also spot on and we felt very well connected

stay was clean and quiet, the lady was really nice and made good breakfast. our room had weak wifi and we were a bit sup

Pros: Clean, good aircon, service lady and breakfast was nice.

Cons: Weak wifi connection, laundry and kitchen is only accessible by staff which there is a laundry fee. no fridge accessible to store water / items. Had some confusion with the room booked and was no door on the toilet. room has bed and bathroom , rest of the images are communal areas

Great Value for Money

Pros: The whole set up of the Riad was amazing.. A very Moroccan feel.. Big rooms. Big bathroom

Great little place for a few days! Everything you need as a base to explore the old town

Pros: Beautiful and traditional riad right in the middle of the souk, owners were amazing and made sure everything was great, perfect for a few days away

Cons: Difficult to find without google maps as it’s down alleyways! No transportation can get to it so it’s at least a 5-10 minute walk with luggage so just be prepared

Pros: Beautiful traditional riad, lovely Moroccan furnishings. I had the big room upstairs, which was really nice. Yes, that particular bathroom had a door despite reviews I read from others.

Cons: No access to kitchen (locked) or any means to boil water and make coffee/tea.
