Riad 5 GÉNÉRATIONS

Pros: Riad 5 Generations boasts an excellent location in the heart of Marrakesh. The souk is literally on your doorstep – less than a 2-minute walk – and it's equally convenient for transportation, with both car drop-off points and taxi ranks just a couple of minutes away. The riad itself was clean and well-maintained, and our host was warm and welcoming. The room was spacious with a lovely view, and the bathroom facilities were perfectly adequate. My only point of feedback concerns the checkout time. The website indicated an 11pm checkout, but on the day we were asked to leave by 11am. While this is a standard checkout time and wasn't a major issue, it was unexpected given what we'd read online. It would be helpful if the listing could be updated to avoid confusion for future guests. Overall, a pleasant stay in a fantastic location – ideal for anyone wanting to be right in the thick of Marrakesh's vibrant medina.

Authentic Riad renovated with attention

Pros: Everything! The Riad, the room, the location, the breakfast and the cleaning was perfect. Mounir, the owner 10 with honours!

Highly recommend

Pros: Mounir was the ideal host. A lot of implication from his part all for us to have the best experience. From the start he welcomed us with a cup of tea followed by an introduction to the Medina site seeing. Any time we had questions he answered and arranged for 20 euro the airport transfer. Couldn't think of something that was missing or could've been better.

Pros: A hidden gem, an oasis of silence few steps away from the craziness of Marrakesh old town. Literraly 1 minute away from where beautifuo madness of Marrakesh begins, lovely staff, everything you need to know or fix gets done by Mounir the manager... Lovely rooms with huge beds, cleaning service daily, very good internet wifi connection, good breakfast served in the inner yard under orange and palm trees... You only need strenght to handle Marrakesh, everything else is here.

Best Riad we visited on Marrakesh

Pros: If you are visiting Marrakesh, stay at Riad 5 Generations! It was the best stay of our entire trip. The Riad is lovely (sunny with big comfortable beds), and the location near the Medina entrance makes getting around stress-free. But the real star was the manager, Mounir. He went above and beyond for us—answering questions remotely and allowing us to store our luggage for free for a week (a service other Riads charged for). You won't find this level of hospitality anywhere else. We would definitely stay again. Thanks for everything, Mounir! Greetings, Ibraim & Nana

We liked our stay!

Pros: The riad had just reopened after several months of renovations. We stayed in a newly renovated room, which used to be a salon. We were the first guests to stay in this room (double room with patio). The beds were very large and extremely comfortable, and the shower was wonderful as well. The riad also has a great central location, close to a taxi stand. The staff were very friendly and always ready to help with anything we needed. Mounir even gave my friend and me his phone number in case we had to walk back to the riad at night. If we ever felt unsafe, he offered to come and pick us up!

Cons: As we were the first guests to stay in the renovated room, a few things were still missing, such as more storage space and some decoration to create a more authentic Moroccan atmosphere. The riad was also a bit noisy, particularly for rooms located near the courtyard where breakfast is served. I would recommend bringing earplugs. Additionally, we felt that the breakfast could be improved by including something like fresh fruit.

Peaceful stay in the middle of the bustling city.

Pros: Beautiful riad in the heart of the city center. Everything you need for a trip to Marrakesh! Very helpful staff as well!

Cons: We had booked a hammam through the riad, but it wasn’t very spectacular and quite expensive for what it was.

A great place to stay for our first visit to Marrakech

Pros: Great location. Fabulous room (suite). Friendly staff. Everything worked!

Cons: If I’m being picky I would have loved a prettier roof terrace

The best in Morocco

Pros: The room is very spacious and beautiful, it has everything you need. The bed was comfortable. The shower was amazing and the hairdryer was fast. The riad is very quiet and beautiful. The breakfast was also really delicious! The reception guy, Mounir is one of the friendliest and most caring people we met in Morocco! He is always more than happy to help with everything you need, in perfect english might I add! He also organised a quad bike and camel riding experience in the desert for us that I definitely recommend! The neighbourhood is safe and touristy, overall location is great!

Pros: Very good location. Everything in Medina was walking distance, and it was easy to find the way home. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. In the morning, we said that the bed was making a creaking sound and the shower door was letting out water. In the evening, they fixed everything. Such fantastic customer service. The garden was truly beautiful.

Cons: Breakfast could have been a bit better: add some fruits and cheese and olives. There wasn't enough space in the room for storage your things. It would have been better instead of table and chairs to put some cabinet for storage.
