Riad Matham

Pros: Riad Matham was a pearl! It was so nice to enter to the calmness of the Riad after spending time in busy medina. Everything around you is filled with beauty and detail. The staff was extremely helpful and kind. It was very clean everywhere.

Wonderful stay

Pros: A warm welcome, very helpful and polite staff and manager. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was freshly cooked, tasty and plentiful. An oasis of calm within the Medina, great access to the Souks and main tourist areas and welcome advice on getting around safely from the Manager.

Cons: Guests chatting loudly one night until 2am, unfortunately noise carries throughout the building as it is so peaceful. This was not the fault of the Riad, but perhaps people could be made aware.

Will definitely be back here for our next trip.

Pros: We had just come back from climbing Toubkal so wanted something relaxed and slightly out of the hussle of the main square. This place was absolutely ideal. The rooms are fabulous with all the basics you need after 3 days hiking in snow. The owner/host could not have done more for us, what a kind man The roof terrace is stunning we watched sunset and sunrise which were magical. There are two tortoise, tangine and cous cous which made the stay even more fun.

Cons: Nothing.

An oasis of calm and light

Pros: This riad is a dream: nested in the medina, an oasis of calm and light. Beautifully designed and decorated, I loved the minimal style. Terrace with a fantastic view, amazing breakfast and lovely and helpful staff. I would come back in a minute!

Lovely Riad in an excellent location representing excellent value and service.

Pros: Excellent location in the oldest part of the Medina. The riad is peaceful, well designed and the service is great. You will be well looked after and nothing is too much trouble. We were really happy with everything especially as the cost per night was the most reasonable we found for our travel dates. Filling breakfast too. Would definitely return.

Amazing!

Pros: We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Riad Matham in December, and will highly recommend this place From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed, and a huge part of that was thanks to the Riad Manager, Hicham. He was truly fantastic! Incredibly warm, attentive, and helpful throughout our stay. His kindness and care made such a difference and honestly made our experience in Morocco even more special. He went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable and taken care of. The riad itself is beautiful, peaceful and feels like a calm oasis after busy days in the city. Everything was clean and comfortable. If (or rather when) we return to Morocco, there is no doubt that we will stay here again. A big thank you to Hicham and the team for making our stay so memorable. PS: We were also picked up at the airport by the riad, which was such a relief. Finding your way through the medina can be challenging, especially late in the evening. Would definitely recommend this!

A beautiful riad in a great location

Pros: A beautiful riad in a great location within the Medina, within an easy walk of the major sites and the markets. Breakfast was wonderful...plenty to eat and great variety. The staff were amazing, particularly the manager Hicham. He collected me (a few minutes walk) from the local mosque as the taxi could not drive to the Riad. He set me up with an app to help me navigate around the Medina and pointed out all the best places to go.

Unbelievable place to stay, with even better staff and customer service.

Pros: Beautiful property and great location, it was a great experience staying in an authentic and historic medina. The staff could not do enough for us, including booking taxis and advice on where to go/things to see. Truly an amazing overall experience and can’t recommend it enough

Cons: It is difficult to find (as is everything in the medina) so take them up on an offer for a transfer from the airport.

The perfect place to stay.

Pros: Everything. This is the perfect place to stay. The building, rooms, food and hospitality were exceptional. The staff were phenomenal. This place is very highly recommended. I cannot fault it.

Cons: Absolutely nothing.

The Medina is absolutely worth visiting and to stay at this Riad puts you right in the middle of it.

Pros: The staff were amazing, so accommodating and helpful with suggestions of where to visit and where to eat. A fire was lit for us in the lounge area each evening as the weather was so cold.

Cons: Unfortunately we experienced an extremely cold spell of weather and there is no heating available in the bedrooms.
